Um, wow, so I actually have pictures of myself now? It’s very weird but also very wonderful – I probably have more pictures taken of me in the last year than I have in the last 5 years combined. It’s been a long road to get comfortable with my shape and weight and all of that, and I’m loving getting to feel this comfort in my skin that I’ve never had before!

What a great quarter for food!! (I mean, just look at all these french fries!!) Chris and I finally found time to Wildtree meal prep this quarter, and you can see a few of those meals in here, but there’s also a fair amount of Mexican (my favvvvvvvveee) and also some Chinese (his lazy night go-to, haha).
(Speaking of Wildtree, have you seen my crazy Twitter thread/moment about freezer meal prepping through them? There’s a lot of good info in there, I promise!)
The hidden story in these pictures is that piece of pizza up there ^ … because I started waitressing again! I got a job at a local Italian place and it’s actually been pretty fun! I have to say I’m particularly stoked on the shift meals we get, which is a piece of pizza with any toppings we like or three garlic knots / pepperoni rolls.
Honestly, my favorite thing about Spotify is definitely the Daily Mixes! They definitely won’t work for everyone, because it’s a lot of the same type of songs and a lot of your stuff seemingly on “repeat” .. but for the way I listen to music, it’s PERFECT. My favorite mix is my Daily Mix 1, which you can find songs like the below three on.
But I also love that I can play my Daily Mix 3 for when I want a nice throwback to my late teens/early 20s, or my Daily Mix 4 if I just need chill relaxing music. It’s basically perfect 🙂
I watched some really killer stuff this quarter! The first I’m only going to briefly touch on, because I’m thinking about doing a Book People Talk Movies series on this + a few other music docs next month…. and the second thing I watched just OMG CAN EVERYONE PLEASE WATCH THE GOOD PLACE ALREADY BECAUSE IT’S AMAZING?!
Annnyywayyys, the first thing I watched (a few times!) this quarter was Music for Misfits, a really great BBC Four documentary that the beau introduced me to. Essentially it goes over the emergence of independent, or “indie,” record labels in 1970s Britain, allowing artists to create their own music outside of the rules and regulations of major record companies.
All three episodes can be found on YouTube, and they are SO worth a watch. I’ll say it definitely helps to like and/or be familiar with the music as far as enjoying the doc goes, but at the same time it’s just such a cool look into a really formative time in British subculture I think any Anglophile would get a kick out of it.
And the other thing I watched? UH. YEAH. It is called The Good Place, it’s just started its second season, and it’s amazing. Shannon (@ladyshanelise) told me to watch this show probably in early August but it took me forever to actually listen to her … and I am so so so so so glad I did!
The best thing I can say for this show, honestly? To me, it’s incredibly reminiscent of Pushing Daisies (um, did y’all see this thing about Bryan Fuller wanting to bring the show back because YES). It has a dark side to it, but there’s also so many laugh out loud moments and so many quotable moments. I also convinced my BFF Baila to watch it, and for real after every episode we spent at least 15 minutes rehashing all of our favorite parts and laughing like idiots – that’s how good it is.
And one final thing about The Good Place. D’arcy Carden, who plays Janet, is amazing. She is hands down my favorite character on the show in every single episode and if I ever ever become an actress I would want a role exactly like hers because it’s hilariously pitch perfect in every way.

This is probably the most fun thing I’ve had to share regarding my planner all year! For about two years I’ve been trying to figure out what the heck to do in the monthly spreads (I’ve tried work schedule, bills, meal planning, exercise, tv shows, books, weather, moods, etc .. and none of them worked for me.)
I saw the above memory planning idea on someone’s Instagram and knew I had to try it – and it actually came out exactly the way I wanted it too which was a bit of a surprise! (I know it seems like I’m all crafty and stuff but really every successful craft is a major GO ME moment because normally I just end up covered in glitter or glue…)
It’s such a fun thing, to be able to go back to each month and look at the pictures I took and relive those moments <3
I am an unapologetic Buzzfeed Tasty FanGirl and I don’t even care. I follow basically every iteration that exists – Japan, Demais, Grill, Junior, Bien, Proper, etc. 98% of my “saved” IG photos/videos are of things from Buzzfeed that I want to try (something that the beau finds particularly hilarious). I found this sheet pan egg thing about three weeks ago and have since made it twice, it’s AMAZING. The entire thing takes like 20 minutes and then you’ve got easy, healthy, quick breakfast for the rest of the week! And it’s also great because the eggs hold their space really well, so it’s super easy to make different variations in the sheet pan. (For example, I only put black olives on my half because the beau doesn’t like them as much!)
Sorry, I just love organization and this fridge currently has me with all the heart eyes!
Ok, so I have a confession to make. I am obsessed with fizzies. I need fizzies. I gave up Mtn Dew over a year ago when I started calorie counting, but I’ve been drinking Diet Pepsi or Coke Zero ever since because I need the fizz. This particular thing drives my boyfriend crazy because, you know, soda bad and all (man I hate when he’s right), but I JUST NEED MY FIZZIES. So to that end, I’ve kind of been actively searching for substitute fizzies for about a year. Zevia Cola = no, Perrier = no, Pelligrino = no, club soda = no, and I can go on and on. But then I found this V8 Sparkling stuff and I got to say, I’m a fan! I can have FIZZY but it can also be healthy(ish?)?! Sign me up!
Oh boy. This is the time of year that is close to the absolute hardest for me (the actual hardest being like February, when I think the cold will never end and I’ll never be happy again). It is so hard to see summer end and to not be able to just leave the house in shorts and a tank top (rather, I’ll have to spend like 15 minutes weather proofing myself to leave the house…). But I will say that I am genuinely happy for all of my friends and how happy they are right now, even if I’m kind of crying while I say it.
But something GOOD to look forward to is that the beau and I are still making really good progress on getting all moved in together – just a few months short of our nine year anniversary! <3 I can’t wait to have all the laziest days with him when it’s cold and miserable and gross outside, haha!
(ok so technically we don’t have a fireplace, but just let me have this one, okay?)
