Top Ten Tuesday | Top Ten Book Boyfriends

Top Ten Tuesday | Top Ten Book Boyfriends

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly list making meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and it’s one of my favorite things about book blogging! Each week is a fun new topic for us all to flail over, and I love creating my own list just as much as I love perusing everyone else’s! I’ve found both amazing books to add to my TBR pile, and amazing people to add to my life! This week’s topic: Top Ten Book Boyfriends Ok, so *insert laughter here*, I actually thought this prompt would be difficult … and then I started going through my Goodreads and realized there were actually quite a few fictional beaus I could hitch my wagon to, if you catch my drift. Here goes nothing – my top *cough* ten *cough* book boyfriends!    Angus. Jamie. Red. These are the MEN of my dreams – strong, capable, loyal, swoon-worthy to a fault. Generous of mind and spirit, fiercely protective, and oh, did I mention devilishly handsome? Mycroft. Jack. Lane. Porter. Jared. Honestly, give me a bad boy any day of the week – most of the time that bad boy exterior is hiding some serious near-perfection and let’s be real – […]

Top Ten Tuesday: Hidden Gems of Both HistFic and YA

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly list making meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and it’s one of my favorite things about book blogging! Each week is a fun new topic for us all to flail over, and I love creating my own list just as much as I love perusing everyone else’s! I’ve found both amazing books to add to my TBR pile, and amazing people to add to my life! This week’s topic? Top Ten Hidden Gems (Five of Which Are Historical Fiction) (Five of Which are YA/MG) (& Two of Which Are Series) Ok, so let’s start by getting one thing out of the way. Each and every one of these books (and for the series, every book within said series) has less than TWO THOUSAND ratings on Goodreads. This, to me, is a travesty upon travesties. Each one of these books got at least 4 stars from me, if not FIVE GLOWING stars. I mean, FIVE GLOWING STARS and not even 2,000 ratings?! What even goes on, amirite?! If this post can get even one person to add even one of these books to their TBR, I will consider it a massive success … if I can […]

Top Ten Tuesday: Series I’ve Been Meaning to Start

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly list making meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and it’s one of my favorite things about book blogging! Each week is a fun new topic for us all to flail over, and I love creating my own list just as much as I love perusing everyone else’s! I’ve found both amazing books to add to my TBR pile, and amazing people to add to my life! This week’s topic? Top Ten Series I’ve Been Meaning to Start (…but haven’t) Just one small precursory thing before y’all start reading this … I really have no good excuse for any of this. *hangs head* Okay, so I’ve owned Finnikin of the Rock for about, oh, um, three years now?? I really have no good excuse for why I haven’t started this series yet, especially considering it has (wonderfully) wrecked so many of my friends’ lives!! I have read two of Susanna Keasley’s books and they were both SO. DAMN. GOOD. I own 4 (FOUR!) of her other books, but have yet to read them (two of which are from this series, The Slains). The best reason I can come up with is that her books are very […]

Top Ten Authors To Meet – Spun Your Way I thought about how I wanted to do this topic for a while, but eventually decided that as much fun as I have meeting authors (and I really do!!), and that as many present day really interesting and cool authors exist, I wanted to go a different way. One thing I’ve thought about a lot is that question of “If you could meet any 10 people in the world, who would they be?” – but I like to take it a bit further and imagine if I were meeting those 10 people all at once, and they were meeting each other too … which is why I decided to come up with a seating chart […]

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten(ish) Books You’ll Fly Through

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly list making meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and it’s one of my favorite things about book blogging! Each week is a fun new topic for us all to flail over, and I love creating my own list just as much as I love perusing everyone else’s! I’ve found both amazing books to add to my TBR pile, and amazing people to add to my life! This week’s topic? Top Ten Books You Can Read in a Day Honestly, I haven’t been this excited about a Top Ten Tuesday in a long time – and not even really because of my choices, but because I can’t wait to see what everybody else picks! There’s something so immensely satisfying about getting so wrapped up in a story that you literally can’t do anything else until you finish it, and I really hope to find some others to add to my TBR! The War That Saved My Life | Warriors | Ella Enchanted | Grounded | Once There is really something to be said for everyone, not just kids, picking up middle grade books every now and then. Some of them can pack quite a punch […]

Top Ten Tuesday: My Spring TBR!

Top Ten Tuesday: My Spring TBR!

My Spring TBR Oof. The dreaded TBR. For some, it’s a great way to categorize their books and keep themselves organized when it comes to the massive influx of books they have coming in to their homes. For others, it’s this thing looming in the background of their lives every day, just waiting to topple over and crush them with words and feelings and the knowledge that we are just never ever ever going to be able to get to all the books they want to read. For me, it’s kind of a mix between the two. I’ve learned to really let the pressure of a TO BE READ shelf drop off my shoulders a lot, and that’s been great – do I want […]

Top Ten Tues(Thurs)day: My Favorite Picture Books + One Bookish Video

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly list making meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and it’s one of my favorite things about book blogging! Each week is a fun new topic for us all to flail over, and I love creating my own list just as much as I love perusing everyone else’s! I’ve found both amazing books to add to my TBR pile, and amazing people to add to my life! This week’s topic? Top Ten Favorite Visual Books (Graphic Novels, Picture Books, Comics, etc) I had such a fun trip down memory lane with this post – these might not be the actual best drawings that are in picture books (and I’m sure that they aren’t), but these were some of my favorite and bring back the happiest memories. I know that it’s only natural that so many of them are from the late 80s and early 90s, as that’s when I was a young child – but what’s so interesting to me is that in looking at those compared to (most) picture books today, I still prefer those drawings! I wonder if it’s because that’s what I grew up on; that I have a natural predisposition […]
