A Quarter in Review: Jan – Mar 2017

Such a good start to 2017!! After months of talking about it, my former roommate and I decided to go play bingo! (The bingo hall I work at supports the Jewish preschool for her congregation, that’s how I got into it!) We had a ton of fun, even though it was waaaayyyy more stressful than the ladies at our bingo hall make it look. How they manage to play a computer, two paper cards, smoke, drink, and buy instants from me all at the same time makes my head spin! We both ended up winning some money and we’re really trying to do it again someday soon 🙂 I met Belle!! We had this killer Beauty and the Beast release party and it was so much fun to see all the little girls all dressed up and how over the moon they were to see a real live princess! ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE was an absolutely fantastic book and I honestly cannot believe it took me so long to read it! It was a read along with Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books, and our first read for our Year of Recommended Reading series! I unexpectedly went up to […]

Month in Review: January 2017

BANGS! I honestly don’t think I realized how much I missed them until I had them back, haha. A Lindsey at work in her natural habitat … aka yes, that is really how I sit in my work chair when I’m super focused on something. *cry laughs* Um, whoa. I’ve been calorie counting for THREE HUNDRED DAYS. I’ve already lost all the weight I want to, but after I hit about 280 days, I figured it would be pretty cool to get all the way to 365 and an entire year! (I’m also using the last 40-50 days to try to wean myself off of counting every single calorie that I eat – which is proving to be a lot more difficult than I thought it would be!) My job did a raffle for this giant Coca-Cola bear and I did not win it (mainly because I couldn’t enter the raffle because I work there) and I WAS SO SAD. I think I was in the process of saying, “He’s so FLUFFY!” when this picture was taken?? Looking Back On August 2016!

Looking Back On August 2016!

The beau and I took a great little mini vacation to Chincoteague Island earlier this month, which is where most of these photos were taken – it was SUCH a fun trip, and I can’t wait until we get to take another! Also, I wish I could tell you what he and the horse found so funny, but I think it was an inside joke 😉 I had the most fun spending an evening at Ashley’s working on our planners and working some crafty magic for this round of #OTSPSecretSister! (In case you are wondering if it is easy to fit two cricuts, two planners, a million pens, a bunch of cardstock, two margaritas, and two people at one little table, it totally is not.) The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron ★★★★★ Kingdom of Ash and Briars by Hannah West ★★★★ 2 books this month, and they were both ARCs from BEA! (Not a great showing for #ARCAugust, but at least I tried? *womp womp*) 1 ★★★★★ and 1 ★★★★ – not too shabby! Flights of Fantasy (13/20) Backlist Books (24/20) Rock My TBR (7/25) Historical Fiction (8/15) Six Squared (16/36) Fairytale Retelling (1/5) #ReRead2016 (11/6) Must Read in 2016 (6/10) FINALLY I HAVE A FAIRYTALE […]

Looking Back on June 2016!

Back in January my truck died, and after trying to fix him we determined that he was beyond help. It took me a while to finally let go (he was a gift from my grandparents before they passed away), but he was picked up by a tow truck this month. (I’m sure my neighbors are pleased – he was taking up a parking spot for ages!) I’ve been doing this calorie counting thing for about 4 months now, and I hit a huge milestone last month: I’ve officially lost 20 pounds!! This is probably the lowest I’ve weighed in 5 or 6 years, and it’s been a really wonderful feeling. I love being able to put on those clothes that I’ve kept for “when I can fit in them again” … and actually fit in them again!!! <3 IT IS SUMMER TIME AND THERE ARE BEACHES AND POOLS AND BOOKS AND ALL IS WELL WITH THE WORLD!!! <3 The beau and I are both total summer babies and love spending time outdoors during these months, and June is a particular favorite because it hasn’t yet gotten too hot and sticky just yet (not that I’m complaining, I’ll take 90 feels like 101 […]

Looking back on May 2016!

Looking back on May 2016!

Basically the only thing worth capturing pictures of in May took place during BEA, and I’m okay with that. (oh, and hey … as I’ve been obsessively going through all of these pictures I’m starting to realize I didn’t get enough pictures with way too many people so that is definitely something I’d like to remedy next year!!!) <3 <3 <3 The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot ★★★ Gertie’s Leap to Greatness by Kate Beasley ★★★★ The Mighty Odds by Amy Ignatow ★★★★ The Movie Version by Emma Wunsch ★★★★★ 4 books this month; 3 ARCs (all from BEA) and 1 backlist title! 1 ★★★★★, 2 ★★★★, and 1 ★★★! Flights of Fantasy (7/20) Backlist Books (14/20) Rock My TBR (6/25) Historical Fiction (5/15) Six Squared (12/36) Fairytale Retelling (0/5) #ReRead2016 (5/6) Must Read in 2016 (4/10) Didn’t knock it out of the park this month, but I got a couple in! I found this band (and this song specifically) through my April Rainy Day Tracking Down Tunes project with Alexa (wow, what a mouthful!) and I have been basically listening to this album on repeat ever since! [spotify id=”spotify:track:4wLvmlgcHW5ZkNERDIDv5H” width=”300″ height=”80″ /] This one is probably my favorite song on the entire album […]

Looking Back on March 2016!

Looking Back on March 2016!

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE I HAVE REAL LIFE ACTUAL FRIENDS HAVING BABIES (but in all seriousness, I am so happy for her and seeing all of this baby stuff just made my heart swell for all of the wonderful things she’s about to experience!) I absolutely love the “love locks” people put on bridges, have you ever seen these? People take locks and write their initials, or the name of a loved one, and they hook the lock onto a piece of the bridge – then the key gets thrown in the river! The beau and I have talked about adding our own for years, but we want to find a really original lock. The last time we took a walk we found this little fish guy hanging on the bridge, and now we know we have to up our game and find a really unique kooky lock! I had a work trip in March, and couldn’t help but take this fun picture on my way home when I stopped to stretch my legs. I have two more trips coming up in April (one is in just a few days), and I’m going to need some BEAUTIFUL weather for my […]
