2016 End of Year Survey!

2016 End of Year Survey!

Number Of Books You Read: 52 Number of Re-Reads: 11 Genre You Read The Most From: Fantasy 1. Best Book You Read In 2016? TOO DIFFICULT, WON’T CHOOSE AND YA CAN’T MAKE ME. Castle Auburn | Another Life | The Forgetting | War that Saved My Life | Hating Game | Unmade 2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t? The Memory Book I had really high hopes for this book (about a girl writing a diary as she attempts to cope with a genetic disorder that is slowly eroding both her memories and her health), but I just couldn’t connect with the MC at all. I know a lot of people that really loved it, but for me it just didn’t work.  3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read? The Princess Diaries This one is SO HARD TO ADMIT but I just …. well, um, I mean, I guess, I didn’t really like this book. *hides under the closest and biggest rock ever* I watched the movie first, and didn’t read this until I was in my very very late 20s – and the mindset […]

Looking Back on January 2016!

Looking Back on January 2016!

#NevilleSittingOnBooks I used some sticker paper and my fancy new Cricut machine to make my very own blog stickers! I love them soooooo much, and it makes playing with my planner so much more fun! I do so love my #SockSunday IG posts (when I’m able to actually post them), and this was my favorite (and maybe only?) for this month. The Princess Bride, The Princess Bride on Film, and As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride! The beau got me these awesome puffy dino stickers for Christmas, and I’ve finally found a place to put one of them! My roommate and I each have a dry erase board on our door, and I thought it would be perfect if my little steggie friend could help decorate it. #NevilleSittingOnBooks Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin ★★★★ The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald ★★★ First and Then by Emma Mills ★★★★ As You Wish by Cary Elwes ★★★★★ 4 books this month; 1 ARC, 2 new-ish releases, and 1 backlist title! 1 ★★★★★, 2 ★★★★, and 1 ★★★! Flights of Fantasy (0/20) Backlist Books (0/20) Rock My TBR (2/25) Historical Fiction (0/15) Six Squared (1/36) Fairytale […]

End Of Year Survey 2015

End Of Year Survey 2015

Two years ago I posted my first EVER post on this blog, and it just so happened to be Jamie’s 2013 End of Year Book Survey! It was the beginning of a wonderful year in which I really got my little baby book blog off of the ground, and then last year I got to fill out the 2014 End of Year Book Survey and it was so much fun to see how far I’ve come! I am thrilled to fill it out again for this year, especially because this year saw me coming leaps and bounds away from where I started two years ago! If you are interested in filling out this great survey, head over to Jamie’s blog now to copy all the questions! (She also has some great header images you can use!) Without further ado, I give you my 2015 End Of Year Book Survey! Number of Books You Read: 54, assuming I finish Wolf by Wolf in the next 3 days! Number of Re-Reads: Six, 4 of them Harry Potter which makes my fangirl heart so happy <3 Genre You Read the Most From: Fantasy/Adventure 1. Best Book You Read in 2015? This is a cruel […]

BEA 2015 Recap Pt 2: Expectations vs Reality

BEA 2015 Recap Pt 2: Expectations vs Reality

I read a ton of posts from a bunch of very experienced BEA bloggers, and I took a lot a lot a lot of notes on the best way to do BEA and what I should expect and how I should prepare. Below I outline some of what I expected after my copious note taking, and what the reality actually was. (Disclaimer: If someone ever ends up on this page as any sort of preparation for attending a BEA themselves, please note that this definitely has a tongue-in-cheek aspect to it – I’ll be doing a more “serious” tip post next year before Chicago 2016! 😉 ) Expectation: I would be walking a lot, and carrying a lot of books. Reality: My feet. Do I even still have feet? Is it just me or am I tilting to the side right now? Hey, look at my arm real quick – is it still there? I made very terrible decisions on both Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday was the day that the floors didn’t open until 1pm, so Ashley & I decided we were going to do a bit of sightseeing beforehand. We took the subway to Central Park and walked around for […]
